I wanted to say hi, because things that are being said have just gotten out of control!!! Wow!!! There’s rumors, death threats to my family and my team, and just so many things crazy things being said. I am trying to take a moment for myself, but everything that’s happening is just making it harder for me. Don’t believe everything you read and hear. These fake emails everywhere were crafted by Sam Lutfi years ago... I did not write them. He was pretending to be me and communicating with my team with a fake email address. My situation is unique, but I promise I’m doing what’s best at this moment 🌸🌸🌸 You may not know this about me, but I am strong, and stand up for what I want! Your love and dedication is amazing, but what I need right now is a little bit of privacy to deal with all the hard things that life is throwing my way. If you could do that, I would be forever grateful. Love you ❤️❤️❤️

Britney Spears says she had a transformative experience -- quite literally -- after watching the movie Big Eyes.
The 38-year-old pop star took to Instagram on Saturday (Aug. 8) to gush over her Tim Burton (her "favorite director in the whole world") and his 2014 drama about American painter Margaret Keane, whose husband took credit for her popular big-eyed portraits of children in the 1950s and '60s.
In her post, Spears first gives a short synopsis of the empowering film, which stars Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz, before segueing into a story about an eye-opening photoshoot she had after the screening.
"It was very weird the same day I watched this movie I did a mini photoshoot and look how freaking big my eyes were !!!" the singer wrote alongside the photoshoot pics. "I mean … my eyes have never been that big !!! It’s actually kinda crazy and they aren’t retouched at all … coincidence maybe ???"
Spears added that she learned an important lesson from the whole experience.
"If the power of what you see and hear can influence your life THAT much … I mean literally stay away from bad people and raise your awareness with high energy people !!!" she continued. "That’s what I learned from this … and watch Big Eyes while you’re at it !!!"

Jamie Spears is sick and tired of how #FreeBritney — an increasingly vocal online movement claiming his daughter Britney Spears is a prisoner in a gilded cage — is painting him as a villain.
An upset Jamie, 68, told The Post that the campaign, which posits him as a cruel and opportunistic father keeping the 38-year-old pop princess under his emotional and financial control in a 12-year-long legal conservatorship, “is a joke.”
“All these conspiracy theorists don’t know anything. The world don’t have a clue,” he said. “It’s up to the court of California to decide what’s best for my daughter. It’s no one else’s business.”
Jamie angrily denied long-standing rumors that he or anyone else is skimming money off the top of Britney’s estate.
“I have to report every nickel and dime spent to the court every year,” he said. “How the hell would I steal something?”
The dad said what really bothers him is the aggressiveness of the #FreeBritney supporters. “People are being stalked and targeted with death threats,” he said. “It’s horrible. We don’t want those kinds of fans.
“I love my daughter,” Jamie continued, getting emotional. “I love all my kids. But this is our business. It’s private.”
Britney’s life and struggles, however, have long played out in public.
And recently, celebrities including Ruby Rose, Miley Cyrus, Paris Hilton, Ariel Winter and Rose McGowan have lent their support to the #FreeBritney movement, Instagramming and tweeting about how the singer is allegedly unable to make her own decisions about her career, personal life and health because of the ongoing conservatorship.
“Her father doesn’t allow her to drive, all of her calls & messages are monitored, she’s not allowed to vote, hang with anyone or spend her money without permission. And if she breaks a ‘rule’ he threatens to have her kids taken away,” claims one change.org petition, with more than 100,000 signatures, lobbying for Britney’s freedom.
The #FreeBritney crusaders have blasted social media with posts, purporting to show that Jamie claimed Britney had dementia in 2008, and that Jamie and the star’s business manager, Lou Taylor of Tri Star Sports and Management, are embezzling from her.
Lately, Britney’s camp has started striking back: Taylor, who did not return calls from The Post, recently settled with #FreeBritney supporter Bryan Kuchar after suing him last year for creating Web sites that called Taylor the “mastermind controlling the pop star.”
A number of Spears insiders insist that the star is not a helpless pawn.
“Absolutely not,” Charlie Ebersol, who dated Britney for eight months in 2015, told The Post. As for the wild rumor that Jamie hires his daughter’s boyfriends and pays them $1,000 a week to date her, Ebersol said: “Not [true] in any way, shape or form.”
One insider said that while Jamie is “not perfect,” he “really stepped up for Britney.”
The conservatorship, which put much of the star’s decision-making into the hands of Jamie and lawyers, was established 12 years ago, after Britney’s very public meltdown.
At the time, it was meant to be temporary. But the fact that it’s gone on so long makes some question who is really benefiting from it. Those close to the singer, however, say that Britney is more comfortable with — and ambivalent about — the situation than people realize.
“It’s not at all a conservatorship like you read about for old people,” said the insider. “It protects her in a way people like Michael Jackson weren’t protected, from themselves and from other people. She’s been able to perform all this time because performing is where she is happiest.
“When she’s left to her own devices is where the trouble starts. She does have some serious issues.”
Born in Mississippi and raised in Louisiana, Britney rocketed to stardom at age 17 with her first single, “. . . Baby One More Time” and remained one of the most popular artists of the next few years.
Her first eyebrow-raising behavior was in 2004, when she married a childhood pal on a whim and got an annulment 55 hours later because, according to court documents, she “lacked understanding of her actions.”
But things really began to unravel in 2006, after she had wed backup dancer Kevin Federline and given birth to their eldest son, Sean. Child Services repeatedly checked in on the family, including after the baby fell out of a high chair and was seen in a vehicle on Britney’s lap rather than in a car seat.
The next year was a whirlwind of unhinged TV appearances; a marriage split (and subsequent divorce) two months after the birth of her second son, Jayden, with Federline; and worrisome paparazzi photos of Britney partying hard with Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan.
Then, in early 2007, Britney checked in and quickly out of rehab, showed up at a Los Angeles beauty shop and shaved off her hair, and attacked a paparazzo’s car with an umbrella. She went back to rehab, gave a jaw-droppingly sad performance at the VMAs, was booked on hit-and-run charges (later dropped) and lost custody of her children to Federline.
That seemed to be the straw that truly broke her. In January 2008, Britney was hauled away in an ambulance after a three-hour police standoff in which she refused to return her sons to Federline’s custody.
Weeks later, she was again taken to a hospital and placed on a psychiatric hold — leading a Los Angeles court to declare her father her legal conservator to handle virtually all her affairs.
During the past 12 years, she has been allowed to make records, tour and even have a Las Vegas concert residency — leading many to speculate: If she can work, why isn’t she allowed to make her decisions?
When asked whether Britney is mentally unstable, ex-boyfriend Ebersol was resolute: “Absolutely not,” he said. That statement was echoed by other former boyfriends including David Lucado, who dated her in 2014. (Britney is now dating Iranian-born bodybuilder Sam Asghari, 26.)
Adam Streisand agrees. The Los Angeles-based lawyer was hired by Britney in 2008 after her hospitalization, until a doctor reported that she was not competent enough to choose her own lawyer and the court appointed her a new one.
He told The Post that, even when she was near rock bottom, Britney did not appear crazy, “just agitated. She understood the concept of a conservatorship but just did not want her father to be the conservator.”
Nonetheless, Streisand does not believe that Jamie or the business managers have been skimming money from Britney. It’s believed that her fortune, said to be anywhere from $60 million to $215 million, was placed in a trust as part of the conservatorship.
“Jamie’s a weird guy, he’s a control freak,” Streisand said. “But I don’t see him as some sort of criminal mastermind in this.”
The Spears family is splintered, however. Last summer, Jamie was temporarily removed from the conservatorship after he allegedly broke down a door and grabbed Sean during an altercation, resulting in a restraining order that forbids him from seeing Britney’s two sons. In March, Jayden lashed out against Jamie on Instagram. Britney’s mom, Lynne, who divorced Jamie in 2002, has reportedly liked at least one #FreeBritney post. Last week, Britney’s brother, Bryan, said that the star wanted out of the conservatorship — but that “it has been a great thing for our family.”
The next hearing on the conservatorship is to be held Aug. 22, and it’s unclear what Britney herself wants to come of it.
Meanwhile, some are beginning to wonder if maybe Britney herself is toying with fans.
While no one disputes her mental-health struggles, Britney has had a knack for masterminding key aspects of her career ever since she came up with the concept of wearing a Catholic-schoolgirl uniform for the video of her first smash hit, “. . . Baby One More Time,” when she was only 17.
By design or not, some say the notoriously agoraphobic singer now stars in a shrewdly curated Instagram feed that keeps her in the public eye without her ever having to leave home.
Her feed is a mix of inspirational bromides, kittenish dancing and provocative, New Age-type musings from which #FreeBritney believers seek hidden meanings.
“I feel like every post is cryptic code for something…” Nicolle Ronayne commented on an Instagram photo Britney posted about the “Pink Planet… aka GJ 504b… the planet made of pink gas!”
Even the star’s appearance is viewed with suspicion. “In every Instagram picture she looks like a zombie and she’s always wearing some version of the same outfit like she’s frozen back in time in the late ’90s,” an industry insider observed. “It’s weird.”
At times, the singer almost seems to be trolling fans, coyly answering their questions in Instagram videos but rarely addressing their anguished cries asking her to let them know if she needs rescuing.
“Whatever is or is not wrong with her, the #FreeBritney movement is making her relevant at a time when a lot of pop stars [from the early 2000s] are aging out of the public eye,” veteran music producer Ed Steinberg told The Post.
“Her management, her label and Britney herself aren’t stupid. They may not have started the movement but they’re benefiting from it.”

Britney’s childhood home is located on 14550 Greenlaw Church Road in Kentwood, Louisiana. The home was listed for sale 59 days ago, according to Zillow. Less than 400 people have seen it only 16 have saved it. It has yet to be featured by any mainstream news media outlets, which may be why it’s still on the market.
The asking price for the ranch-style home is $289,000 – significantly higher than the $273,537 Zestimate and sale prices for similar properties in the area. The home is 2,299 sqft, set on a 1.87 acre lot. It has three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The house comes fully furnished, so all you have to do is move on in.
How we know this is Britney’s childhood home
Britney Spears’ childhood home was built in 1981 – the same year Britney was born. Britney grew up in this house and it’s where she shot her first Rolling Stone cover and conducted several media interviews.
At one point, her cousin Laura Lynne even gave MTV cameras a tour of the house, including Britney’s bedroom.
If you need further proof, we pulled some public records to verify that this home is in fact owned by the Spears family. The property was transferred on Jan. 10, 2010 from Lynne Spears’ name to Jamie’s. It was recorded as a cash sale, priced at $50,000. On that same day, Jamie took out a $71,250 loan through First Horizon Bank. On Nov. 28, 2016 the property was once again documented as a cash sale from “Jamie and Lynn Inc.” to “James Parnell Spears”. Sale price: $0.
Jamie Spears has maintained the property since and even added a building that briefly operated as a gym. Britney has talked how she used to teach classes at the gym as a child. There are even photos of her, doing gymnastics and dance lessons in the space.
Britney’s childhood bedroom
Britney Spears’ childhood bedroom is the only unfurnished room in the house. That’s because the entire bedroom was packed up and moved to the Kentwood Museum, which has its own Britney Spears exhibit.
In this 1999 clip, Britney gushes about the baby blue carpet in her room.
Interestingly, the entire house has wood floors and beige carpet – except for Britney’s old room, which still has the blue carpet.
Why you shouldn’t buy Britney Spears’ childhood home
As previously mentioned, the Spears family wants Britney’s childhood home to remain a single family residence. They will take legal action and invoke local ordinances to prevent this property from being used as a commercial property. That includes turning it into a museum or Airbnb.
It’s somewhat ironic, considering Britney’s dad had a full-on gym built on-site, but we digress.
Why is Jamie Spears selling the home?
It’s unclear why Jamie Spears is selling the family home. Back in 2000 Britney Spears bought her mom a custom-built $4.5 million mansion on the outskirts of town, called Serenity. While Lynne, Britney and younger sister Jamie Lynne moved into the new mansion, James Spears remained in the old home on Greenlaw Church Road before the couple eventually divorced. Jamie has maintained the property over the years and eventually reconciled with Lynne in 2010.
What may explain the listing is that Jamie Spears stepped down as Britney’s conservator back in September 2020, following an altercation with Britney’s eldest son. Afterwards, Britney’s ex-husband Kevin obtained a restraining order against Jamie, barring him from being around his grandsons for the next five years.
As Britney’s conservator, Jamie earned a salary of $150,000 per year plus a 1.5% cut of her merchandise sales. Losing this source of income likely made selling the family’s uninhabited former home a sensible option.
Britney’s current home
Britney Spears does not live in Louisiana but she does occasionally drop by to visit family. Back in April, her sister Jamie Lynne posted a video on Instagram of the family visiting their former home on Greenlaw Church Road. Britney was seen in a brief clip at the beginning.

Britney Spears currently lives in a $7.4 house in Thousand Oaks, CA. The property features 12,000 sqft of space, 21 acres of land and a massive pool that is frequently featured in Britney’s Instagram posts.
Fans have been worried as of late that Britney is being held there against her will, while her representatives insist she merely enjoys being a homebody.
The Britney Spears museum in Kentwood, LA
If you can’t buy Britney Spears childhood home, maybe you can visit her hometown. The Britney Spears Exhibit at the Kentwood Historical museum is an ode to Kentwood’s favorite hometown girl. It has been around since 2000 and features furnishing from Britney’s childhood bedroom, complete with dolls and stuffed animals.
The museum also boasts some incredible Britney memorabilia. The Spears family regularly sends new items to keep the exhibit fresh. Of note? The feathered wings Britney wore during her Vegas residency are on display at the museum. In exchange for a $3 donation, fans can take a photo in front of the wings. Take that, Austin wings mural!
What’s currently going on with Britney Spears?
What makes this story interesting is that Britney has been in the news a great deal lately due to her struggles with mental illness and her attempts to end her 12 year-long conservatorship. According to reports, Britney Spears was diagnosed with bipolar disorder back in 2008 and has battled with the illness (and her conservators) since.
Britney’s co-conservator Andrew Wallet, abruptly stepped down in April 2019 amidst concerns that “Substantial detriment, irreparable harm and immediate danger will result to the conservatee and her estate if the relief requested herein in not granted on an ex parte basis”.
It was later alleged that Britney had been checked into a rehab facility and held there against her will for three months. Her team has adamantly denied this. Following her release, she appealed to a judge to end the conservatorship, something that has prompted concerns from her handlers and family.
Britney’s mom, Lynne Spears, even petitioned the court for a say in her daughter’s personal and financial matters. Britney missed a July court date due to technical issues. A follow-up hearing has been scheduled for later in August and the judge is asking for a review of her financial matters. Most likely, the judge wants to get an understanding of why Britney Spears’ net worth is so low. The pop star has earned over $350 million throughout her career, yet court documents show her estate to be worth only $59 million.
The future of Britney’s freedom is uncertain and for that matter, so is the sale of her childhood home. With restrictions around how the property can be utilized, a small pool of local buyers and the coronavirus pandemic tightening belts, it will likely stay on the market for a while.
The actress shared a tweet from Halsey that said, "If you can’t offer understanding or sympathy, offer your silence"
On Tuesday, the actress spoke out on Instagram about the importance of respect when discussing mental illness — and hit back at trolls who demanded information on her pop star older sibling.
"👆🏻👏🏻👆🏻👏🏻👆🏻. 'If you can’t offer understanding or sympathy, offer your silence'- HALSEY," Jamie Lynn wrote in her caption accompanying a screen grab of one of the singer's tweets.
The actress continued: "If you deal with mental illness or care for someone dealing with mental illness, then you know how important it is to respect the situation with privacy for the person, and the family trying to protect their loved ones, no matter how it may appear to the public, and as the public we must learn to do the same."
"I pray this doesn’t bring shame to anyone dealing with mental illness, you are not alone, and you are loved. Sending all my love and prayers to all of you♥️," she concluded.
Whereas neither Halsey or Jamie Lynn's posts specifically named the rapper, the two women seemed to reference Kanye West after he posted a string of cryptic tweets Monday night, ranting about his wife, Kim Kardashian West, mother-in-law Kris Jenner and other topics. A source told PEOPLE earlier this month that West, 43, is struggling through a bipolar manic episode, which concerned his loved ones.
While many fans assumed that Jamie Lynn was also referencing her older sister, she clapped back in the comments and responded to a troll who asked her to discuss her sister's mental health, as captured by Comments by Celebs.
"You have no right to assume anything about my sister, and I have NO right to speak about HER health and personal matters," Jamie Lynn wrote.
"She is a strong, badass, unstoppable woman, and that's the only thing that is OBVIOUS," she added.
In response to another commenter who demanded that Jamie Lynn and the rest of her family "speak out and clarify all these assumptions," she wrote, "I would never speak out just to clarify things to the public, when the person it pertains to does not want that to happen."
She added, "I'd rather take all the hate, then speak about someone elses [sic] personal matter, that they want to keep private."
Last year, Britney spent some time at an "all-encompassing wellness facility" and continued to receive outpatient therapy after her boyfriend Sam Asghari checked her out in late April, PEOPLE reported at the time.
A source told PEOPLE last May that the "Baby One More Time" singer was "dealing with debilitating emotional issues that need to be treated with medications" and that things for the star were "very up and down."
Later that month, however, Britney appeared in good spirits on Instagram, sharing, "... after therapy and being too serious it’s so nice to be silly !!!!!"
